Silver Surfers . . . As you will have noticed, we are presently engaging a process of developing a timeline

charting the history of St Mary’s Parish Church from its beginning right up until the present day. The

timeline will be an interactive tool developed on the internet. As this will cover over 350 years we need

some help from the latest generation of technological whizz kids, the silver surfers. Basic typing skills

suffice. Guaranteed you will learn something new. If you can help, please contact Charles Hay, the

St Mary’s Parish Church for week 9th May 2011.

This week sees the start of our Future Focus event. Taking place over the next four Fridays each evening will start at 7.30pm and finish around 9.30pm We need anyone who is coming along to any of the 4 evenings to indicate their intention to attend by completing one of the response forms that will be available from the Church office or at the front door of the church on a Sunday.
Friday 13th May will focus on St Mary's and Kirkintilloch in the 1930's and 40's. There will be an opportunity to view and interact with the online Timeline as well as hear speakers, view archive footage on the era and view artefacts from the era. There will also be something to eat and a time for fellowship. At the close of the evening, folks will be invited to record their hopes and dreams for St Mary's going forward. All are welcome.

This Sunday (15th May) we celebrate the sacrament of baptism at St Mary’s Parish Church. The Service is at 11.00am, with Sunday school in the halls for children age 3 to 12 years. The seekers group will also meet at this time and is open to young people aged 12 to 16 years. Children under 3 years will be made welcome at the crèche.
Tea and coffee will be served in the large hall after the service, where you will also find the Fair Trade Stall.

Wednesday Welcome service starts at 10.00am with fellowship in the session house, where tea will be served, before worship in the church at 11.30am.

The Prayer Circle meets in the vestry at 7.00pm on Tuesday.
